The mission of the Washington Association of Accountants is to promote and protect the right of every member to practice accounting and taxation; to provide the services and professional education necessary to maintain and improve professional competence.

Astrid is a CPA who has owned & operated her tax practice for the past 13 years. She has assisted various professionals and charitable organizations serving on the boards for WAA and Lakewood Rotary as well as served on various committees for the National Society of Accountants.
She received the Merrillee Rapley Award in 2008 and the Outstanding Service By A Member in 2009

Charles Grass
Member

Charles is a Renton area CPA with ATA and ATP credentials and a member of NSA. He joined WAA in 1983 and has been on the board since 2009.
Charles graduated Central WA Univ. in 1983 and with over 30 years’ experience he serves individuals and closely held businesses with income tax, accounting and a variety of other services. 425.271.6277

Ken Winger
Member

Ken has been an accountant since early 80’s after graduating from CWU with B.S. in Accounting, taking on positions of Accounting Manager, Controller, Chief Financial Officer, and currently has his own accounting and tax business. Ken has been a EA since 2003 and WAA member shortly thereafter fulfilling various roles at the chapter and state level. 253.813.8934

Sonia graduated in 1982 from EWU with a BA in Accounting & Computer.
Sole Practitioner since 1988 providing accounting and tax services to small businesses.
She is an Accredited Tax Preparer through the Accreditation Council for Accountancy & Taxation, Inc.

Melanie Levno
Member

Melanie received her EA Certificate of Enrollment to practice before the IRS in September of 2000.
In August of 2006, she established her own Spokane, WA tax and accounting practice, Melanie Levno & Associates, Inc.

Lawrence Walkden
Member
Larry started preparing taxes in 1970 . In 1976 he moved to Washington, where he continued preparing taxes.
In 1978 he passed the EA exam and in 1980 started his own practice in Snohomish and Monroe.
In 1988 he received his degree in accounting and joined WAA at the same time.

Executive Director

Cate Taylor joined Melby, Cameron and Anderson an association management company in 2010 as an Executive Director.
